Unified Accreditation Update
Work on the Fall 2022 New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) self study continues during the beautiful Maine summer. Within the draft narrative, our editorial team is identifying opportunities for weaving in updates about areas of activity where NECHE has invited us to chronicle our progress. In a corresponding vein, we’re also incorporating updates on core strategic initiatives, such as UMS Transforms, the unified catalog effort, and the RePaving MaineStreet project being led by Chief Information Officer David Demers and his talented team of Information Technology professionals. And in response to the July 26 charge Chancellor Malloy received from the Board of Trustees to develop a recommended process and timeline for University of Maine System (UMS) strategic planning, we will be documenting developments in that arena over the coming academic year and integrating them in the self study to the furthest possible extent.
We look forward to reporting on advancements in these and other initiatives next month as we prepare for the (rapidly) approaching Fall 2021 semester.
