Unified Accreditation Update
We’re pleased to share two updates as the new year gets underway. First, we’re preparing to post the second of three public drafts of the Fall 2022 University of Maine System (UMS) New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) self-study. The draft will be shared in a message to the UMS community on or around February 10, and you will once again be invited to offer feedback. We welcome your continuing input as we work to complete the self-study in late spring and send it to NECHE and (soon thereafter) to the evaluation team that will be visiting us in October.
The University of Maine System Unified Catalog Initiative website is now live. We encourage you to visit it. The site, which is linked to the Unified Accreditation site, will provide monthly updates, answer frequently asked questions, and incorporate additional content as work on this initiative progresses. Importantly, the site includes a section addressing the principles guiding the Unified Catalog work. Those principles reflect, in part, ideas and insights shared by faculty from all of our universities and the Maine Law School in conversations about this work over the past year.
Thank you, and welcome back!
