What better way to wrap up your summer than on the coast of Maine?
Join us for our newest Vacationland course at the University of Maine at Machias this August for what will surely be a memorable experience!
Nature-Based Tourism & Sustainable Development, Maine Coastal Kayaking & Conservation is a three-credit course that introduces students to conservation strategies, initiatives, and projects along coastal areas and islands in Maine. Students will participate in sea kayaking activities (including anovernight camping trip!), visit conserved lands, and interact with local land trusts that preserve and steward these lands. Students will also learn techniques to minimize impactswhile engaging in outdoor recreational activities along Maine’s coasts.
August 26 – 30, 2024 (in-person, experiential learning component in Machias) with additional online follow-up activities
University of Maine at Machias, optional accommodations in the UMM Residence Halls
