Description:
Earners of the University of Maine System (UMS) Career Prepared Micro-Credential demonstrate ongoing, active engagement in career development, workforce training, and application of relevant skills. Learners develop competency in relevant, in-demand career-ready skills.
- Level 1: Learners familiarize themselves with career service resources, explore career options, and register with their campus job board.
- Level 2: Learners write a Career Action plan that includes the articulation of skill development, career goals and identification of values, interests and transferable skills. They act on at least one career or skill-building experience from the plan, begin a job or internship search using appropriate resources, and reflect on their learning.
- Level 3: Learners complete at least one career-related internship, employment opportunity, or other approved experience, receiving a positive performance evaluation from their supervisor. They also demonstrate competency in durable, transferable career skills by earning an Education Design Lab 21st Century Skills badge and complete a self-reflection activity.
Evidence is assessed by authorized UMS faculty or staff and work-based supervisors using rubrics and performance feedback.
