Description:
The University of Maine System (UMS) offers a UMS Micro-Credential Development course. Throughout the training process, learners develop and demonstrate knowledge, skills, and competencies in micro-credential design, development, and implementation. A micro-credential is awarded to those who meet all of the criteria:
- Understand the University of Maine System’s Micro-Credential framework, definitions, and the importance of the initiative in meeting workforce and post-secondary attainment goals;
- Demonstrate foundational knowledge of the UMS Micro-Credential Initiative and its benefits to learners and employers;
- Reflect on the micro-credential development and implementation process;
- As part of a Development Team:
- plan and design a UMS micro-credential.
- write the meta-data for their designed micro-credential.
- learn how to implement a UMS micro-credential.
- develop an understanding of the badge issuing process and marketing strategies.
- develop an approved UMS micro-credential.

- Level 1: Maine residents interested in learning more
- Levels 2 & 3: open to UMS Micro-Credential Development Teams
What is the cost to the learner?
No cost.
