Repaving MaineStreet includes projects to migrate the MaineStreet PeopleSoft® Human Resources (HR) and Financials systems to Oracle Cloud platforms, as well as a reimplementation of MaineStreet PeopleSoft Campus Solutions (CS), the student information system. The overarching goals are to provide:
- An improved MaineStreet Experience for all!
- Expanded opportunities for collaboration between campuses
- Enhanced consistency to support process improvements and data consistency
What’s happened since the last update?
Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) HR project
Since the project’s kick-off, UMS HR leadership successfully advocated with the HireTouch hiring solution vendor to extend access to the application through December 2023. This allows for implementing the HCM Recruiting module on the same timeline as the Onboarding, Core HR, Compensation, Payroll, Time & Labor, Benefits, and Goals & Performance modules with a go-live date of January 2024.
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Finance project
To allow for the time needed to carefully consider code standardization across modules, to implement business process improvements, and to include additional modules in the project’s scope, the ERP timeline is extended from January 2024 to July 2024. The current project scope includes the General Ledger, Purchasing, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Cash Management, Expenses, Financial Planning, and Account Reconciliation modules.
MaineStreet Campus Solutions (CS) Reimplementation project
The project is currently in the analysis and discovery phase, which will inform the overall project approach and timeline. The project will officially kick off in late fall of 2023.
An initial series of discovery sessions with approximately 200 representatives from student administrative functional areas from across the system was completed in December. The session objectives were to gain a deeper understanding of previously identified pain points, identify opportunities for business process realignments and the use of new functionality, and identify areas where current modifications may be reduced or eliminated in the future. Sessions for faculty and students will take place during January and February.
Upcoming Milestones
- January 30 & February 1: Discovery sessions to collect input from faculty about the Campus Solutions (MaineStreet) student information system.
- January 31: Discovery sessions to collect input from students about Campus Solutions (MaineStreet).
- Late February – Early March: The first round of Oracle Cloud HCM (HR) review sessions in the Oracle Cloud test environment will be conducted followed by self-guided sessions to identify where system configuration and data adjustments are necessary.
