Welcome to your University of Maine System (UMS) Employee Benefits Center!

The University of Maine System Employee Benefits Center (EBC) is a centralized, one-stop resource for benefits enrollment, information and assistance. We offer employee advocacy when dealing with insurance carriers and other benefit service providers. In addition to providing direct support to employees, the EBC is responsible for many of the employee benefits administrative functions. The Employee Benefits Center is available to assist employees by phone or email 8am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Employee benefits  are a significant part of the overall University of Maine System total compensation package.  All full-time regular and part-time regular employees working at least half time are eligible for benefits. Employees pay different premium amounts based on the type of employee, collective bargaining agreement, and percent of time worked.

Cigna Machine Readable Files (External Site)

The above link leads to the machine readable files that are made available in response to the federal Transparency in Coverage Rule and includes negotiated service rates and out-of-network allowed amounts between health plans and healthcare providers. The machine-readable files are formatted to allow researchers, regulators, and application developers to more easily access and analyze data.

University of Maine System Retiree Health Benefits

The University of Maine System (UMS) recognizes the many outstanding contributions of its employees and works hard to support its colleagues as they either contemplate retirement or navigate through the process.

UMS Retiree benefits include medical and dental options with an opportunity for choice in the selection of plans that are the right fit for each individual and their family.
