All university faculty, staff, student employees, and volunteers have a duty to report incidents of sexual discrimination, sexual harassment, and sexual assault involving members of the university community that they witness or that are disclosed to them. Because domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and sexual misconduct can also constitute sex discrimination, information witnessed or received about such incidents must also be reported.

  • Employees (unless designated as confidential)
  • Student employees
  • Peer advocates
  • Volunteers

What incidents must be reported:

  • Sexual harassment
  • Sexual misconduct
  • Sexual assault
  • Dating violence
  • Domestic violence
  • Stalking
  • Gender discrimination

What information is shared:

  • Name of person reporting alleged incident
  • Name of person(s) involved
  • Name of witness(es)
  • Date, time, and location of alleged incident
  • Other relevant information shared by reporting party

Who receives mandatory reports:

For incidents involving students: Contact the Deputy Title IX Coordinator at your campus.

For incidents involving non-students (employees, volunteers, visitors, and vendors): Contact the UMS Title IX Office.
