Confidential Resource Advisors (CRAs) provide emergency and ongoing support to individuals impacted by sexual violence, relationship violence, and stalking. We use nonjudgmental and trauma-informed practices to offer information, assistance, and support to students and employees across the University of Maine System. Confidentiality Notice
Our services are free and confidential. To maintain confidentiality of the individuals we serve, Confidential Resource Advisors (CRAs) are not mandatory reporters except in limited situations, such as disclosures of child abuse/neglect, disclosures from individuals under the age of 18 years old, or disclosures from incapacitated or dependent adults.
Additionally, per Maine law L.D. 1727, Title 20-A, §12986 (External Site): “A report to a confidential resource advisor of an alleged incident of sexual violence, intimate partner violence or stalking or a confidential resource advisor’s performance of a service under this section may not be considered actual or constructive notice of such an alleged incident to the institution of higher education at which the confidential resource advisor is employed or provides contracted services.”
