The University of Maine System Board of Trustees has received and reviewed the University of Maine at Augusta Faculty Senate resolutions adopted on May 11, 2022. This is a matter of utmost urgency and importance to the integrity of the University of Maine System and its universities.
The Board acknowledges the concerns of the UMA Faculty Senate. The Board is reviewing what can be done to improve the integrity of UMS presidential searches, as well as the confidence of our university communities in them.
The Board or Chancellor will be providing additional information on this matter.

The System consists of seven main campuses: The University of Maine (UMaine), including its regional campus the University of Maine at Machias (UMM); the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA); the University of Maine at Farmington (UMF); the University of Maine at Fort Kent (UMFK), the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI); and the University of Southern Maine (USM). The System also includes a UMA campus in Bangor, USM campuses in Gorham and Lewiston-Auburn, the University of Maine School of Law, and the University of Maine Graduate and Professional Center.
