No Life Records has a web site where you can do some virtual shopping for very real CDs, LPs and a variety of other music-related items. The catalog features more than 1,000 7" & 10" records and roughly 2,500 (mostly) independent full length CD/LP releases. Labels that No Life carries include Flydaddy, Restless, Tim/Kerr, Big Cat, Alternative Tentacles, Matador, Skingraft, Touch & Go, 1/4 Stick, Sub Pop, Drag City, Lookout, Sympathy For the Record Industry, Bongload, Twin/Tone, Shimmy-Disc, Revelation, Pravda and many, many others. No Life also has a selection of imports. Prices and shipping are both reasonable. If you have a local store that specializes in independent releases you probably won't save money by using No Life, but if you live in a deprived area (like me) then you'll probably want to blow a few paychecks stocking up on those difficult to find selections.
Dwayne Goettel, founding member of Skinny Puppy, died on August 23rd of an apparent heroin overdose. Work had recently been completed on an album to be finished by producer David Ogilvie for release on American Recordings. The release date for the Skinny Puppy album is now indefinite, with no plans for its release by the end of 1995.
